without being able to quote research, i'm sure we can still agree that little boys need to be cuddled. ben is not just cute. he is beautiful. i held him today and he put his head on my chest and relaxed in a way that most of us have would hand over an arm for ten minutes of. i sung in his ear. on this occasion, i channelled my energies into singing quietly instead of tunefully. we stood there and listened to a cd and had what some people might describe as a moment. i do like ben. he's one of those kids whose face, regardless of the expression, tells a tale. there's the times when he looks over serious, like when he is feeding or swimming. these are activities he doesn't usually smile through. nappy changing however is hilarious. as i held him today, i thought of how nice it is to be a father. not just any father, but ben's father.
