23 novembre loveit came as no surprise to me that last night i dreamed i met tony hawk. in my dream, myself and i think my brother stephen were taking part in a promotion in abu dhabi whereby an apartment block had been cleared and filled with various celebrities whom we could meet, similar to visiting orangutan in a zoo. as luck would have it, tony hawk was present and understandably i headed straight to his floor and we met. he happened to be unwrapping some new decks and he offered me one. i was interested to find that his new model was a good two inches wider than the one i currently have under my bed at the moment. i met tony hawk once. it was a very wet day in paraparaumu on the kapiti coast, just one train ride from wellington. he signed my vision street wear cap and we chatted for a bit. he was awesome. i remain disappointed that they never skated that day. to be fair, i have seen a great number of pros ride and i always made a point of meeting and speaking with them. i loved them. next weekend there will be a fantastic demo in dubai. among others, the x games people are bringing out matt hoffman and sandro dias. i really cannot wait to spend 2 days down there with a few mates watching them play. dias must show us a 900. and hoffman too. having mentioned before that my 1/4 pipe was finished, i recently begun to make improvements which involved lots of hammering, cutting and noise. tomorrow should see it finished once and for all. although much of this piece may not excite many of you, i appreciate your reading and sharing of it with me nonetheless. |
